Dr. Nguimkeu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Georgia State University. He specializes in Econometrics, Statistical methods and Data Science with applications in Applied Policy Analysis and Development Economics.  He received his PhD from Simon Fraser University. He also received a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Montreal, a Diplôme d’Ingénieur Statisticien-Economiste from ENSEA of Abidjan, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Dschang.

His research identifies the need in applied economics and policy for better econometric and data analytic techniques in the presence of poor observational data quality (e.g., mismeasured data, missing data, noisy data), and develops innovative methodologies to serve that need. His work has appeared in such journals as Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Development Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, World Development, Economic Development & Cultural Change, Scandinavian Journal of Statistics, Economica, Energy Economics, Journal of Statistical Planning & Inference, and others. It has been funded by such  agencies as the Lindau-Nobel Council,  the Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Centre for Interuniversity Research in Quantitative Economics (CIREQ), the European Development Fund (EDF), the French Cooperation Fund (FAC). 

In addition, Professor Nguimkeu has consulted with several international organizations and development agencies including the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Canadian International Development Research Center (IDRC), the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He serves as a Resource Person for the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and in the Board of Directors of the National Economic Association (NEA). He has received several awards of excellence including the Early Career Award at Georgia State University and the Young African Researcher Award from the International Economic Association.
